1958 Little League World Series
The 1958 Little League World Series was the 12th Little League World Series. Participants were Valleyfield, QC, Monterrey, Nuevo León, Gadsden, AL, Darien, CT, Honolulu, HI, Kankakee, IL and Portland, OR. In the final, Monterrey beat Kankakee 10-1 for its second straight title. The star was future major leaguer Hector Torres, who fanned 11 and allowed 3 hits and one run in a complete game win; future major league outfielder Bobby Treviño was also on that team. Two other future big leaguers were in the Series, both on Portland's Rose City entry: Keith Lampard and Rick Wise.
