1984 Little League World Series
The 1984 Little League World Series was the first Little League World Series to be won by a team from South Korea. The entries were Seoul, Brussels (the most recent Belgian team as of 2013), Coquitlam, BC, Bethania, Panama, Los Gatos, CA, Bristol, CT, Altamonte Springs, FL and Indianapolis, IN. Chul Jang of Seoul tossed a no-hitter against Canada. In the finale, Seoul beat Altamonte Springs, 6-2, Kwan-lee Myong beating Jim Musselwhite. The big name (in retrospect) was Altamonte Springs SS Jason Varitek, who was 0 for 3 with an error in the championship game.
