1961 Little League World Series
The 1961 Little League World Series was the 15th Little League World Series. Teams participating were Montreal, QC, Monterrey, Nuevo León, Pirmasens Post (Germany), El Cajon, CA, Hilo, HI, Terre Haute, IN, Levittown, PA and El Campo, TX. In the finale, El Cajon had no-hit pitching from M. Salvatore and M. Alasantre but trailed 2-1 going into the bottom of the 6th thanks to 3 errors, but Salvatore then hit a 3-run homer off W.P. Winfield to win it over El Campo. Brian Sipe, a future NFL MVP, was a bench player for the champions.
