2023 Little League World Series

The 2023 Little League World Series is the 76th Little League World Series.

The teams qualified by winning one of twenty Region Tournaments. 2023 was the first appearance of a team from North Dakota. It was the first edition of the tournament in which a team from Cuba qualified. Cuba had only competed in the Regional Tournaments for the first time in 2019.

El Segundo, CA defeated Willemstad 6-5 in the title game.

Taoyuan City 6, Regina, SK 0. Chen-Jun Fan, Tse-Wei Chiu and Yuan-Hao Cai combine on a perfect game with 14 whiffs as Taiwan routs Canada.
El Segundo, CA 4, New Albany, OH 3. Brody Brooks hits a two-run homer then Louis Lappe a solo shot as California rallies from a 3-1 deficit.

Seattle, WA 6, Nolensville, TN 2. Seattle takes advantage of three Tennessee errors en route to victory.
Taoyuan City 10, Tokyo 0. Taiwan continues to dominate, with their second straight no-hitter. Chen-Jun Fan again stars.

Tijuana, Baja California 3, Maracaibo, Zulia 1. Gael Leyva keeps Mexico alive with a complete game win, eliminating Venezuela.
Nolensville, TN 2, Henderson, NV 1. In another elimination game, Lucas McCauley whiffs 12 to silence Nevada's booming bats. Stella Weaver steals home for the winning run. She becomes the first US girl with three hits in a LLWS.
Tokyo 5, Santiago de Veraguas, Veraguas 4. Nobuaki Sakaue singles in the winner in the 6th.
El Segundo, CA 9, Smithfield, RI 3. Brody Brooks hits a two-run homer and Louis Lappe strikes out nine in a rout for California.

Tijuana, Baja California 2, Tokyo 0. Bernardo Partida pitches a three-hitter to outduel Yohei Yamaguchi.
Needville, TX 1, Seattle, WA 0. The staffs combine for 29 strikeouts in a superb pitching duel. In the 9th inning, Easton Ondruch drives in Corbin Riddle wiht a sacrifice fly for the game's lone run; Ondruch then goes 1-2-3 to wrap it up in the bottom of the inning.
Taoyuan City 9, Willemstad 1. Taiwan finally allows a run but has another easy win.
El Segundo, CA 5, Nolensville, TN 3. Louis Lappe hits a key homer for California while Lucas McCauley's 2-run shot had put Nolensville ahead briefly.

August 24[edit]

Willemstad 4, Tijuana, Baja California 2. Curacao uses three straight bases-loaded walks to join Taiwan in the international final, hoping for better success against that team than the prior day.
El Segundo, CA 2, Seattle, WA 1. California joined Texas in the US final as Brody Brooks saves it for Dylan McRoberts.

August 26[edit]

Willemstad 2, Taoyuan City 0. Curacao avenges their loss to Taiwan, as the Taiwanese powerhouse falls after outscoring opponents 25-1 and allowing two hits entering the game. It is a pitching duel, with Curacao having two hits to Taiwan's one in a match of baseball-loving islands.
El Segundo, CA 6, Needville, TX 1. In another instance on a team avenging a loss, Louis Lappe fans 10, drives in five and homers to power California to the US title. He outduels D.J. Jablonski.

August 27[edit]

Taoyuan City 10, Needville, TX 0. After its one loss, Taiwan is back in dominant form in the consolation game.
El Segundo, CA 6, Willemstad 5. Louis Lappe hit a walk-off home run in the sixth inning to secure the title. For the second straight year, the US beats Curacao in the finale. Nasir El-Ossais hits a grand slam for Willemstad.
