1949 Little League World Series
The 1949 Little League World Series was the third Little League World Series. Teams came from Bridgeport, CT, Pensacola, FL, Lafayette, IN, Hammonton, NJ, Corning, NY, Canton, OH, North Charleston, SC and Lock Haven, PA. In the finale, Hammonton topped Pensacola, 5-0, as Anthony Bilazzo drove in 3 and Joe DiGiacomo fanned 14 in a one-hit, two-walk gem. Jerry Hudson threw a no-hitter in the tournament. Hammonton finished with a 0.33 ERA and .086 opponent average.
