1972 Little League World Series
The 1972 Little League World Series was the second in a row in which a team from Taiwan beat a team from Indiana in the finale. The 8 participants were Windsor, ON, Taipei, San Juan, Madrid, Pearl City, HI, Hammond, IN, New City, NY and Vienna, VA. Taipei had a 0.33 ERA and perfect fielding percentage in the tournament. In the last game, they beat Hammond, 6-0, as Hammond had more errors (5) than hits (4). Chih-Shun Chen tossed his second shutout, a 12-K four-hitter. LF Hsiang-Jui Lin went 3 for 3 with a homer, two runs and two RBI while J. Davis took the loss.
