From BR Bullpen

The 2025 Futures Game was played on July 12th at Truist Park in Atlanta, GA, the site of the 2025 All-Star Game. It was the 26th edition of the event and was played as a seven-inning game between prospects from American League and National League.

Two former Atlanta Braves players were appointed as managers for the game, with Marquis Grissom for the AL and Chipper Jones for the NL.

The National League won the game, 4-2, with Josue De Paula winning the Larry Doby Award as the game's most valuable player.

The AL took the early lead in the game with runs in the 3rd and 4th innings. The first run scored on an RBI groundout by Braden Montgomery and the second on a sacrifice fly from Sebastian Walcott. In the bottom of 4th inning, DePaula hit a three-run homer off Noah Schultz to put the NL ahead for the first time. Later in that inning, Owen Caissie extended the lead with a double that scored LuJames Groover. Carson Whisenhunt retired the first two batters in the top of the 7th and Welinton Herrera recorded the final out to receive credit for the save. Marquis Grissom Jr., the son of the AL's manager, received credit for the win in spite of giving up a run in the 4th, while Schultz was charged with the loss. Other notable moments from the game included Jurrangelo Cijntje pitching ambidextrously during his stint on the mound for the AL, and Konnor Griffin before forced to leave the game after taking a 97 mph pitch from Alimber Santa on the wrist in the 4th inning.
