Biographical Information[edit]

Third baseman Tommy White created a stir when he began his college baseball career at North Carolina State University in 2022 by belting 9 homers in his first 8 games. He went on to hit 27 homers in 55 games that first year, setting the school's single-season record and the NCAA Division-I record for a freshman. He then transferred to Louisiana State University after the season. In two years at LSU, he was part of the Tigers team that won the 2023 College World Series and was named the 3B on the All-Tournament team. He hit .374 with 24 homers and 105 RBIs that year, his RBI total leading the nation, then followed that up in 2024 with a .330 average in 66 games, 24 homers and 70 RBIs. He became the fourth player in Division-I history to have three seasons of 20 or more homers, after Pete Incaviglia, George Canale and Todd Greene. The Oakland Athletics selected him in the 2nd round of the 2024 amateur draft, with the 40th overall pick and signed him to a bonus of $3 million.

Tommy began his pro career with the Stockton Ports of the California League in 2024, hitting .224/.303/.299 in 25 games. He started the 2025 season with the Lansing Lugnuts of the Midwest League and was named to the American League team for the 2025 Futures Game.
