Biographical Information[edit]

Catcher Alfredo Duno was signed by the Cincinnati Reds as an international amateur free agent on January 13, 2023. While all sources seem to agree that he was born in the State of Miranda in Venezuela, no English or Spanish-language site seems to list in which city.

He began his pro career in 2023 with the DSL Reds, batting .303 in 45 games. He was both a mid-season and a post-season All-Star in the Dominican Summer League, as well as a Reds organizational All-Star. In 2024, he moved over to the United States, playing 32 games for the Daytona Tortugas of the Florida State League and batting .267 with 3 homers and 16 RBIs. He was back with Daytona in 2025, this time for a full season. He put up a slash line of .287/.430/.518 in 113 games, with 18 homers and 81 RBIs, very impressive power numbers for a 19-year-old in a circuit not known for being hitter-friendly. He was named to play in the 2025 Futures Game. he was the FSL Player of the Week on three separate occasions, its Player of the Month in August, and the circuit's Player of the Year. After the season, he appeared in the Arizona Fall League.

He entered the 2026 season ranked as the #77 prospect in baseball according to Baseball America.
