Pittsburgh, the second-largest city in Pennsylvania (after Philadelphia, PA), is located in the western part of the state, at the confluence of the Allegheny, Monongahela and Ohio Rivers. Once at the center of the United States steel industry, the city is today better known as a center of higher learning, healthcare and high technology.
