East-West League
The East-West League was the premier Negro League from 1932 to 1935, after the midwestern Negro National League picked up some eastern teams. The league shrank in 1933 due to financial woes during the Great Depression. In 1936, the eastern and western teams separated - the eastern branch took the old Negro National League name, while the western teams formed the Negro American League in 1937.
On December 16, 2020, the East-West League of 1932 was one of seven Negro Leagues to be recognized by Major League Baseball as a major league.
