2025 Asian Championship
The 2025 Asian Championship was played from September 22 to September 28, 2025 in Pingtan County, Fujian, China. Competing nations were
Japan,
South Korea,
Chinese Taipei,
People's Republic of China,
Philippines,
Pakistan,
State of Palestine and
Hong Kong. Those were the top three teams from the 2023 Asian Championship (Japan, Taiwan, South Korea) plus the top two teams from the 2024 East Asian Baseball Cup (Philippines, Hong Kong), the top two from the 2025 West Asian Baseball Cup (Pakistan, Palestine) and the hosts (China).

September 22[edit]
Chinese Taipei 14,
State of Palestine 0. A dominant win for Taiwan in their opener. Sheng-En Lin fanned 10 in 4 shutout innings to get the win, then Meng-Yang Lu, Chih-Lin Lee and Yu-Chieh Wang succeeded him to completed a one-hit, 7-inning mercy rule shutout. Hsiao-Yun Chen was 3-for-4, and Yu-Li Lin drove in 3 runs with 3 hits. Yunis Haleem collected Palestine's only hit in the last inning.
Japan 18,
Philippines 1. The defending champion destroyed their opponent in their first game. Shota Masui fanned 7 in 5 innings, and Keisho Amiya collected 3 RBI with a timely double. John Vargas hit the only extra-base hit for Philippines in the 4th inning, and they then scored their lone run of the game thanks to Joven Maulit's grounder.
South Korea 16,
Hong Kong 1. Another mercy-ruled game in the first day. 6 South Korean hurlers combined to allow only 2 hits, and they scored 16 to end the game in the 6th inning. Da-min Jeon went 3-for-4 with 3 runs, and Hyeon-jun Ryu collected 4 RBI with 3 runs. Dong-hyo Kwak hit the first homer of the event, against Chun-Yin Alex Cheung in the 3rd inning. Hong Kong scored a run in the 4th inning because of second baseman Hyun-chang Jeong's error.
People's Republic of China 10,
Pakistan 0. Xudi Suo fanned 11 in 3 2/3 shutout innings, and another three Chinese pitchers combined completed 4 1/3 innings with 5 Ks in an 8-inning mercy-ruled shutout against Pakistan. Yifan Li got 4 RBI, and Hangang Hou went 3-for-5 with 2 runs scored.

State of Palestine 5,
Hong Kong 2. Palestine got their first win of the event, facing the same opponent from last event. Luke Shahin was 5-for-5 with a triple, and David Powres completed the game with 8 strikeouts. Hong Kong scored in the 3rd inning thanks to Anson Fung's double and two Palestinian errors.
People's Republic of China 4,
Philippines 2. The hosts grabbed a close win and remained unbeaten. Binbin Lu's RBI single gave China the lead, and Yifan Li added two runs with a double in the next inning. Jiahong Mi and Guoqing Liu blanked the Philippines for 8 innings with 9 strikeouts, before the islanders finally broke through against Xudi Suo in the 9th inning. John Matanguihan's double shortened the lead to two runs, but Suo retired Juan Paulo Macasaet and John Vargas to end the game.
Japan 17,
Pakistan 2. Due to the heavy rain, Japan's starter Ryuji Yanoda was less effective so Pakistan's Iyad Ansari and Muhammad Rehan each drove in a run. However, the defending champion didn't give them much of a chance, and they completed a 5-inning mercy-ruled win as they scored 17 runs. Ryosuke Aizawa hit a 3-run homer, and Shohei Mizutani went 2-for-3 with 3 RBI and a triple.
Chinese Taipei 10,
South Korea 0. Taiwan's amateur team surprisingly routed Korea's professional team. Jun-won Kim and Jong-woon Kim combined to allow 6 runs in the first inning, and Mu-Heng Chen struck out 3 in 5 shutout innings. Min-Shih Chen crushed a 2-run homer in the 7th inning to end the game due to the mercy rule.
September 24[edit]
Philippines 10,
Pakistan 0. The Philippines finally got their first win in the event. Lord de Vera was 2-for-5 with a homer and 4 RBI, and Liam de Vera, John Vargas and Ian Mercado all collected 3 hits. Amiel de Guzman and James Nisnisan combined for 6 strikeouts. Pakistan's only bright spot was Amar Mahmood, who got 3 hits with a RBI.
South Korea 9,
State of Palestine 0. South Korea advanced with a one-hit shutout win against Palestine. Hyun-chang Jung drove in 3 runs and collected 3 hits, and Seo-jin Oh also had 3 RBI. Dylan Ahmad's single was Palestine's only hit of the game.
Chinese Taipei 11,
Hong Kong 0. Taiwan mercy ruled all three opponents in the first round. Sheng-Hsien Chen greeted Hong Kong with a leadoff homer, and Po-Jui Huang and Wei-Tai Tsai hit back-to-back homers in the 6th inning. Wei-Chiang Kao fanned 9 to completed a one-hitter, and Ching Connor Kwok got the loss.
Japan 13,
People's Republic of China 0. Two unbeaten teams met each other, and the defending champion completed a 7-inning, mercy-ruled shutout against the hosts. Kazuki Kondo and Yuma Fugo combined to only allow 2 hits, both to China's Hangang Hou. Keisho Amiya was 3-for-4 with 3 RBI, and Ryosuke Aizawa also drove in 3 runs. Yuki Sato crushed a 2-run homer in the 6th inning.
September 25[edit]
South Korea 8,
People's Republic of China 6. South Korea took a 7-run lead early, Byeong-joon Kim was 3-for-5, and Jong-sung Lim drove in 2 runs with a single. China answered back soon; Jun-won Kim's wild pitch gave China a run, then Xinlong Zhao hit a RBI single. Korea gave up another run because of Kang-hoon Woo's balk in the 7th inning, and China reduced their lead to 2 runs after Hangang Hou knocked in a run with a single. Jong-woon Kim still closed the door with 2 1/3 shutout innings.
Hong Kong 9,
Pakistan 5. Hong Kong finally won their first game. Yau-Pang Ng was 3-for-4 with 3 RBI, and Tsun-Wai Yung also collected 3 hits. Yu-Hin Oscar Cheng completed 6 1/3 innings to get the win.
State of Palestine 7,
Philippines 3. Palestine secured 5th place with a win against the Philippines. Dylan Ahmad and Yunis Haleem both collected 3 hits, and Steven Mufareh got the win with 8 Ks in 5 shutout innings.
Japan 3,
Chinese Taipei 2. Japan won the duel between the two remaining unbeaten teams. Taiwan scored first thanks to Min-Shih Chen's RBI double, then Sung-Hsun Wu crushed a solo shot in the next inning. Jun-Wei Zhang struck out 5 in 4 shutout innings, but reliever Po-Ju Huang allowed a RBI single to Manami Soeda, and Japan tied the game thanks to Huang's wild pitch. In the 8th inning, Chieh-En Yang gave up three straight walks, then he plunked Shohei Mizutani and Japan got the winning run.
September 26[edit]
Pakistan 5,
State of Palestine 2. Pakistan finally got their first win of the event. Iyad Ansari was 2-for-4 with 3 RBI, and Musharaf Khan completed the game with 11 strikeouts.
Chinese Taipei 4,
People's Republic of China 0. Taiwan advanced to the final with a 3-hit shutout win. Meng-Yang Lu fanned 5 in 7 innings, then Chieh-En Yang and Cheng-Hao Wang succeeded him and completed the shutout. Yu-Wei Kao knocked in 2 runs with a double in the 5th inning.
Philippines 7,
Hong Kong 6. The Philippines scored early, but Hong Kong took the lead in the 8th inning thanks to Tsz-Yin Jordan Wen's 2-run single. Philippines answered back soon as Liam de Vera tied the game in the bottom of the inning with a grounder, and Lord de Vera drove in the winning run.
South Korea 1,
Japan 0. Min-kyu Hong and Jae-hun Yang combined to blank Japan, and Hyun-jun Ryu's RBI single in the first inning decided the winner. Japan had a chance to tie the game, but Dong-hyo Kwak caught Keisho Amiya's fly ball and South Korea completed the shutout win.
September 27[edit]
South Korea 4,
People's Republic of China 3. China took the lead in the 3rd inning thanks to Hangang Hou's RBI single, and Korea answered back soon in the 4th inning. Jong-sung Lim and tied the game with a single, and Seo-jin Oh drove in the winning run. Xinlong Zhao's RBI double reduced Korea's lead to one run, but Jae-hun Yang still closed the door and South Korea secured the Bronze.
Japan 11,
Chinese Taipei 0. Japan destroyed the only active minor leaguer of the event, Sheng-En Lin, in the first inning. Keisho Amiya hit a 2-run double, and Yukiya Yano added a single. Mu-Heng Chen relieved him, but he walked two straight players and Japan got another free run. Chen allowed another 3 runs in the next inning, and Taiwan's lineup was completed silenced. Kazuki Kondo fanned 9 in 6 shutout innings, and Japan won their 8th Gold in the past 10 events.
