Biographical Information[edit]
Jun-Wei Zhang played for the Chinese Taipei national team.
Zhang represented Taiwan in the 2023 U-18 Baseball World Cup, 2024 U-23 Baseball World Cup and 2024 Haarlem Baseball Week. The Softbank Hawks then signed him with a $700,000 dollars signing bonus, but he didn't appeared in the NPB Farm Leagues in 2025. [1]. He made it onto Taiwan's roster for the 2025 Asian Championship, and he pitched a shutout inning against South Korea with 2 strikeouts (Hyun-jun Ryu and Seung-min Lee). Zhang then started against Japan, and he completed 4 shutout innings with 5 strikeouts. Taiwan lost to Japan to win Silver in the event.[2]
