Biographical Information[edit]
Mu-Heng Chen played for the Chinese Taipei national team.
Chen represented Taiwan in the 2023 U-18 Baseball World Cup, pitching 3 shutout innings and registering a save. [1] In the 2024 U-18 Asian Baseball Championship, he threw 9 2/3 shutout innings, allowing only two hits, for the champs, beating South Korea in a 1-0 game and turning in fine work against Japan. He was named the event's All-Star starting pitcher for his efforts. [2] The Orix Buffaloes then signed him with a 75 million yen signing bonus, and he had a 1.17 ERA in 5 appearances in the NPB Farm Leagues in 2025. [3].
He made it onto Taiwan's roster for the 2025 Asian Championship, and he pitched 5 shutout innings with 3 Ks against South Korea as the starter. Chen then relieved Sheng-En Lin in the Gold Medal Game against Japan, but he allowed 3 runs in an inning and Taiwan lost to Japan to win Silver in the event.[4]
Chen's repertoire features a fastball that peaks at 94.4 mph, a curveball, slider, forkball and a changeup [5]
