Biographical Information[edit]
Yu-Chieh Wang represented Taiwan in the 2024 U-23 Baseball World Cup (pitching six shutout innings and saving two games, one behind leader Bryan Torres (minors04)) [1] and 2024 Haarlem Baseball Week (0-2, Sv, 5.40, losing the Bronze Medal Game to Scott Prins; he led the event in losses). [2] He played for the Chinese Taipei national team in the 2025 Asian Championship. He pitched a shutout inning against Palestine with a strikeout of Adam Musa, but he also surrendered the only hit his team allowed, to Yunis Haleem. Wang then succeeded Po-Ju Huang in the 6th inning against Japan, and he pitched 1 1/3 shutout innings with 2 strikeouts (Shohei Mizutani and Toyo Kumada). He pitched versus Japan again in the Gold Medal Game after he succeeded Chih-Lin Lee in the 7th inning, and he retired Manami Soeda and Keisho Amiya first. However, Wang then gave up a 2-run single to Ryosuke Aizawa, and Yuki Sato added a single. Wang finally struck out Yukiya Yano to end the inning, and Taiwan lost to Japan to win Silver in the event.[3] His brother is CPBL pitcher Yu-Hsiang Wang.[4]
