Biographical Information

Toyo Kumada represented Japan in the 2019 U-18 Baseball World Cup. He batted .318/.444/.318 with 8 RBI in 8 games, fielding .882 at short (moving to DH later in the event as a result). He played for Toyota in the Industrial League. He played for the Samurai Japan in the 2025 Asian Championship. Kumada debuted against the the Philippines, going 1-for-3 with a double against Junmar Diarao. He was then 0-for-2 against Pakistani national team, and he went 3-for-4 with 2 runs versus China. Kumada was hitless in 5 at-bats against Chinese Taipei, and he had a 1-for-4 record against South Korea. In the Gold Medal Game, he was 1-for-5 with 2 runs scored and Japan beat Taiwan to win the Gold.
