Biographical Information[edit]
Jong-woon Kim has played in the Korea Baseball Organization.
Kim was drafted by the LG Twins in the 7th round of the 2025 KBO draft, and he pitched 2 games with a 5.40 ERA for the big club in 2025.[1] He then represented South Korea in the 2025 Asian Championship. Kim was named the starter against Chinese Taipei, and he retired Hsiao-Yun Chen and Chun-Yu Pan. However, he then walked Min-Shih Chen, and Yu-Wei Kao added a single. Kim still couldn't get the third out, and he surrendered a run due to a wild pitch. Chen-Yu Yang then added a RBI double, and Kim was replaced by Jun-won Kim; he got the loss. He then pitched 1 2/3 shutout innings against Palestine with 2 strikeouts (Tarik Elabour and Charles Haddad), and he fanned 3 in 2 1/3 innings versus China. Korea beat China to won Bronze. [2]
