The Pacific League cruised in Game 1, attended by 33,573 at the Kyocera Dome. Raidel Martínez blanked the PL in the first but they got to Takahiro Matsuba in the second with hits from Franmil Reyes, Seiya Watanabe and Ukyo Shuto for a 1-0 lead. Matsuba had more trouble in the 3rd when Ryo Ohta and Kyota Fujiwara singled and Yuma Tongu launched a three-run bomb. He would win the Game MVP award. The PL staff of Hiroya Miyagi, Liván Moinelo, Naoto Nishiguchi, Koki Kitayama, Hiroshi Kaino and Kazuki Sugiyama held the CL to one run, in the 5th. Yuki Okabayashi tripled off Nishiguchi and Masaya Yano's sac fly brought him home. The PL got the last run in the 7th against Sotaro Shimauchi when Kenya Wakatsuki went yard.

Game 2[edit]
The PL jumped to a quick lead before the CL made it a closer contest, only to fall again. 33,558 turned out to see this game at Yokohama Stadium Rui Muneyama opened the game with a hit off Shoki Murakami and Kotaro Kiyomiya also singled. With one out, Daito Yamamoto smacked a two-run double. Manaya Nishikawa singled to put the lead at 3-0 with only one out. In the second, Chusei Mannami doubled with two away and then Muneyama, Kiyomiya and Hotaka Yamakawa each singled in a run to put it at 6-0. The CL got one run back in the bottom of the frame, when Shugo Maki, Sandro Fabián and Yuta Izuguchi all got hits.
The Pacific League got that run back in the third. Iori Yamasaki replaced the struggling Murakami and yielded a one-out double to Nishikawa and a two-out RBI single to Ryusei Terachi. Kiyomiya added a homer off Foster Griffin in the 4th and it was now 8-1; Kiyomiya would win the MVP. In the 5th, Tatsuru Yanagimachi doubled off Hiroki Ohnishi, the lone Yakult Swallows representative, and Natsuo Takizawa singled for a 8-run cushion. The CL pecked away at that. Naoki Yoshikawa and Teruaki Sato took Shunsuke Nakamori deep in the bottom of the 5th to make it a 9-3 contest.
The CL did its most damage in the 7th. Koji Chikamoto greeted Kaima Taira with a single, Yoshikawa doubled and Shota Morishita smacked a two-run double. With two away, Keita Sano singled to make it a three-run game. The CL pulled within two in the 8th when Chikamoto went deep off Kota Tatsu, but that's as close as they would get. Game 1 star Yuma Tongu capped the scoring with a pinch-hit bomb off Andre Jackson in the ninth.
