Biographical Information[edit]

Manaya Nishikawa has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Nishikawa was drafted by the Seibu Lions in the 2nd round of the 2017 NPB draft; the scout was Hiroyuki Oshima. He spent his first five seasons primarily in the NPB Farm Leagues, and he only got 54 at-bats combined for the top team. Nishikawa hit .227/.269/.299 in 41 games in 2023, and he played 104 games with a .227/.263/.332 batting line in 2024. He was selected into the 2025 NPB All-Star Game, and he went 1-for-2 with a double against Iori Yamasaki in the 3rd inning of Game 2. He ended up hitting .264/.318/.387 with 10 homers in 2025, and he led the Pacific League with 64 runs scored (one ahead of Kotaro Kiyomiya). His 26 doubles tied Keita Nakagawa, one behind Misho Nishikawa, and his 25 steals (in 32 tries) tied Ryota Isobata for third. He won the NPB Gold Glove as an outfielder.
