Biographical Information

Daisuke Moriura has pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Moriura went 21-10 in his college career, and he won two MVPs and a Best Nine award. He was drafted by the Hiroshima Carp in the 2nd round of the 2020 NPB draft; the scout was Tomoya Sayashi. He collected 17 holds with a 3.17 ERA in 54 relief outings in 2021, and he set the team record for most holds as a rookie. Moriura then notched 24 holds with a 3.30 ERA in 51 appearances in 2022, and he was 8th in holds in the Central League (between Yuhei Takanashi and Masumi Hamachi). He also tied the CL record as he pitched in 10 straight games. Moriura struggled in 2023 as his ERA was 6.17 in 13 games, and he soon bounced back with a 2.51 ERA and 17 holds in 53 appearances in 2024. He also completed the 21th immaculate inning on June 1. Moriura was selected into the 2025 NPB All-Star Game, and he pitched a shutout inning with three strikeouts (against Kyota Fujiwara, Yuma Tongu and Franmil Reyes) in Game 1.
