Biographical Information[edit]
Tomoya Sayashi represented Japan in the 2002 World University Baseball Championship. Backing up Takahito Kudoh in center for the Bronze Medal winners, he was 2 for 6 with a run and two RBI. He was drafted by the Hiroshima Carp in the 4th round the 2002 NPB draft, but he only got 27 at-bats combined for the big club before announced his retirement in 2010. He later became a scout, signing Seiya Akagi, Akitake Okada, Kaito Kozono, Tomoki Ishihara, Kota Hayashi, Naru Katsuda, Kei Kawano, Tatsuto Kobayashi, Shu Kubo, Takumi Kurohara, Shohei Mori, Keita Nishihara, Shun Okamoto, Taichi Taka, Shota Suekane and Daisuke Moriura.
