Biographical Information[edit]

Shota Suekane has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Suekane was drafted by the Hiroshima Carp in the 6th round of the 2021 NPB draft; the scout was Tomoya Sayashi. He got his first career hit against Katsuki Azuma on March 25, 2022, and he was the first Carp rookie to get his first career hit and RBI on Opening Day since Kazuyoshi Yamamoto in 1961. Suekane then became the first Carp rookie to hit a grand slam since Kojiro Machida in 1992. He ended up hitting .299/.300/.442 in 31 games in his rookie year, and he crushed 11 homers in 146 plate appearances with a .273/.308/.554 batting line in 2023. Suekane played 79 games in 2024, and he recorded a .238/.283/.381 batting line with 9 homers.
