Biographical Information[edit]

Kota Hayashi has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Hayashi was drafted by the Hiroshima Carp in the 3rd round of the 2018 NPB draft; the scout was Tomoya Sayashi. He hit .225/.290/.384 with 7 homers in the NPB Farm Leagues in 2019, and he crushed 9 homers with a .262/.324/.427 batting line in 2020. Hayashi was 2nd in hits in the Western League (7 behind Kaito Kozono), 2nd in homers (3 behind Richard Sunagawa) and 2nd in RBI (7 behind Sunagawa). He also went 1-for-8 with the big club. He was Hiroshima's starting third baseman in 2021, and he crushed 10 homers with a .266/.301/.392 batting line in 102 games.

However, the Wakayama native slumped to .217/.281/.275 in the minors in 2022, and he didn't reach the top team that season. Hayashi was 12-for-58 in 2023, and he hit .237/.300/.403 with 10 homers in the minors. He was 3rd in homers (9 behind Sunagawa), 6th in hits (tied with Tomoya Inoue) and 3rd in RBI (15 behind Sunagawa). He hit .270/.327/.404 in the minors in 2024, and he was 11-for-60 with the top team.
