Biographical Information[edit]
Isami Nomura has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Nomura was drafted by the Softbank Hawks in the 4th round of the 2022 NPB draft; the scout was Homare Inamine. [1] He crushed 10 homers with 10 steals and a .239/.312/.489 batting line in 2022, and he set the Hawks record for most home run in a season by a rookie. He was also the first player to get 10 homers and 10 steals in his first season since Terumitsu Kumano did it in 1985. He did it in only 180 at-bats as he split third base with Freddy Galvis and Ukyo Shuto. Nomura crushed a home run against Daiki Tajima in the 2022 PLCS final stage Game 3, and he was the first PL rookie to hit a homer in the Climax Series. He got 5 votes in the PL Rookie of the Year voting. [2]
However, Nomura suffered from a back injury, and he slumped to .160/.266/.296 in 50 games in 2023 while Ryoya Kurihara became the starter at third base. He struggled again in 2024, and he only played 38 games with a .116/.225/.116 batting line.
