Team History[edit]

After the 2008 season the Fort Wayne Wizards moved into a new ballpark, Parkview Field, and changed their name to the Fort Wayne TinCaps. The name and logo is based on the legend of Johnny Appleseed. In its first season under the new identity, the team finished first by 12 games, winning both halves of the Eastern Division, then won the Midwest League crown by defeating Burlington in the finals.
