Biographical Information[edit]
Infielder Jose Flores played 13 seasons in the minors, appeared in 1,216 games, and hit .278/.379/.364. Flores had cups of coffee in the majors with the Oakland Athletics in 2002 and Los Angeles Dodgers in 2004. He finished his playing career in 2006 and then turned to coaching.
Flores was the hitting coach of the Eugene Emeralds in 2007. The Emeralds finished second in the Northwest League in batting average (.272) and walks (335). Flores managed the AZL Padres in 2008-2009 and Fort Wayne TinCaps in 2010. Moving to the San Francisco Giants organization, Flores became hitting coach of the Augusta GreenJackets in 2011.
