The University of Kansas has had one player who went on to get more than 5,000 major league at-bats, Bob Allison, and one player who went on to get more than 100 victories as a major league pitcher, Steve Renko.

On March 12, 2025, the Jayhawks became the fourth team in documented college baseball history to hit five consecutive home runs in one game, doing so in the 3rd inning of a game against the University of Minnesota. The feat has never been accomplished at the major league level.
