Biographical Information[edit]

Don Werner of the Cincinnati Reds caught the only no-hitter of Hall of Famer Tom Seaver's career on June 16, 1978.

Since retiring as a player, he has been a minor league manager and coach.

Werner was a player/coach for the Oklahoma City 89ers in 1987-1988 and coach for the Carolina Mudcats in 1995. He was in the San Diego Padres chain for seven seasons. He joined the Baltimore Orioles organization as coach of the Delmarva Shorebirds in 2003-2004. He was the skipper of the Bowie Baysox in 2005-2006. After the 2006 season he was named minor league catching instructor for the Orioles, a job he still holds in 2012.
