Biographical Information[edit]
Francis Gonzaga played for the Philippines national baseball team in the 2025 Asian Championship. He relieved Amiel de Guzman in the 6th inning against Japan, and he struck out Hiroki Nakagawa. However, Manami Soeda then hit a single, and Kaito Yoshikawa drove in a run with a double. Gonzaga then allowed two singles, to Keita Wada and Ryosuke Aizawa, and Shinnosuke Nishimura reached due to an error. Yuki Sato then knocked in another run, and Gonzaga finally forced Shohei Mizutani to ground into a double play to end his work. He then completed 3 2/3 innings against China with only a run allowed to Xinlong Zhao, and he succeeded de Guzman in the 5th inning against Hong Kong. Gonzaga completed his first two innings with only a walk allowed, but he faced some troubles in the 7th inning. Hoi-Ting Cheng hit a leadoff double, and Sze-Yue Chan added a RBI single. Gonzaga then fanned Ho-Ki Bryan Tam and retired Cheuk-Kiu Chan, but Tsz-Yin Jordan Wen then drove in a run with a double. Gonzaga got Hon-Man Ashley Ma and ended the inning, then Joshua Pineda replaced him after he surrendered another double to Tsun-Wai Yung in the 8th inning.[1]
