Biographical Information[edit]
Shinnosuke Nishimura represented Japan in the 2024 U-23 Baseball World Cup, hitting .381/.440/.667 with 9 RBI in 9 games. He was 5th in average, tied Yu-Ching Tseng for the slugging lead and tying Luis Gonzalez and Solomon Maguire for the RBI lead. He was left off the All-Star outfield as Edgardo Villegas, Xudong Zhu and Jean Henao were picked. [1] He played for Yamaha in the Industrial League, and he was on Japan's roster in the 2025 Asian Championship.[2] He debuted against the Philippines, and he had a 0-for-1 record. Nishimura then hit a single against Syed Muhib Shah of Pakistan with 2 runs scored, and he recorded a RBI single against Wenyu Wang of China. He was hitless in 3 at-bats versus South Korea, and he appeared in the Gold Medal Game against Chinese Taipei as the backup right fielder for Shohei Mizutani. Japan beat Taiwan to win the Gold. [3]
