Biographical Information[edit]

Myles Jaye is a pitcher who reached the major leagues in 2017.

He was picked by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 17th round of the 2010 amateur draft out of a high school in Georgia. The scout was Eric McQueen. He did not play at all that year, beginning his professional career in 2011 with the Bluefield Blue Jays in the Appalachian League, where he was 3-3, 3.00 in 13 games, including 9 starts. He pitched 54 innings, striking out 49 and walking 18. Still miles away from the big leagues, he was traded to the Chicago White Sox on January 1, 2012, along with another pitcher from the lower minors, Daniel Webb, in return for major league reliever Jason Frasor.

Jaye pitched in the White Sox organization until the end of the 2015 season, spending all or parts of three seasons at AA with the Birmingham Barons. In 2015, he was 12-9, 3.29 with Birmingham, giving indications that he was close to the major leagues, after struggling in his previous attempts at the level. On December 10th, he was traded to the Texas Rangers in return for Will Lamb. He went to spring training with the Rangers in 2016, but on March 30th, he was traded to the Detroit Tigers along with C Bobby Wilson in return for C Bryan Holaday. It was with the Tigers that he made his major league debut in September of 2017.
