Team History[edit]

The Mahoning Valley Scrappers were an affiliate of the Cleveland Indians in the New York-Penn League for two decades. In 1999 the AA Eastern League added the Erie SeaWolves as an expansion team so the NY-P League SeaWolves moved to Niles, Ohio and became the Mahoning Valley Scrappers.

The Scrappers lost their MLB affiliation in the minor league reorganization of 2021 and subsequently joined the MLB Draft League, a summer collegiate league.
