Biographical Information[edit]

Jason Bullard pitched in the minor leagues and for the USA national team.

Bullard was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 11th round of the 1991 Amateur Draft, and he was 2-2 with a 3.51 ERA and 7 saves for the Augusta Pirates in his first season. He also pitched 7 shutout innings with 4 saves for the Welland Pirates, but his ERA rose to 7.40 in 19 appearances for the Carolina Mudcats in 1992. Bullard missed most of the 1993 season, and he only pitched 4 games with a 3.86 ERA for the GCL Pirates. He then left the Pirates system, and he went 6-5 with a 3.79 ERA and 10 saves for the St. Paul Saints in 1994. The Colorado Rockies signed him, but he allowed 13 runs in 8 2/3 innings for the AAA Colorado Springs Sky Sox. He returned to the Saints in the middle of the season, and his ERA rose to 5.20 in 17 starts with a 3-3 record.

The New York Mets signed him, and he was 0-3 with a 4.89 ERA for the AAA Norfolk Tides in 1996. He also pitched 8 games with a 2.70 ERA for the Binghamton Mets, and he went 1-1 with a 2.45 ERA for the Canton-Akron Indians affiliated with the Cleveland Indians. Bullard then went to the Baltimore Orioles, and he 3 saves and 7 wins with a 2.62 ERA in 61 appearances for the AA Bowie Baysox in 1997. The Atlanta Braves signed him, and he collected 10 saves with a solid 1.06 ERA in 17 games for the Greenville Braves. Her also pitched 36 games with AAA Richmond Braves, and he was 1-2 with a 4.91 ERA. Bullard allowed 18 runs in 7 2/3 innings in Greenville in 1999, and he was released. He went to the Somerset Patriots, and he collected 6 saves with a 3.96 ERA in 46 games. He represented the USA in the 1999 Intercontinental Cup. Bullard notched 30 saves with a 4.02 ERA in 58 relief outings for the Bakersfield Blaze in 2000, and he announced his retirement.
