Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Bob Milacki was signed as a secondary phase selection in the 1983 amateur draft by the Baltimore Orioles and scouts Jim Driscoll and Joe Bowman. Milacki pitched the first six innings of a combined no-hitter along with Mike Flanagan (7th inning), Mark Williamson (8th inning) and Gregg Olson (9th inning) for the Orioles on July 13, 1991.

He played eight major league seasons after making his debut as a September call-up with the Orioles in 1988. His best year was his rookie season, 1989, when he was 14-12, 3.74 and led the American League with 36 starts in a year when the Birds surprised every one by staying in the hunt for the postseason until the final day of the season. He had only one other season when he was in double figures in wins, when he finished 10-9, 4.01 in 1991. He left the Orioles after going 6-8, 5.84 in 1992, and played his final three seasons with three different teams - the Cleveland Indians, Kansas City Royals and Seattle Mariners. Overall, he was 39-47 with an ERA of 4.39 in 143 games.

Following his major league career, he played briefly for the Kintetsu Buffaloes of Nippon Pro Baseball's Pacific League in |1997. He went 0-2, 7.30 in 6 games. He finished his pro career by going 11-6, 4.03 in 18 starts for the St. Paul Saints of the independent Northern League in 2000. He became a minor league pitching coach the following year and for the next two decades.
