Team History[edit]

The Biloxi Shuckers, of the Southern League and briefly in Double-A South, had to wait nearly half of their first season to bring baseball back to the Gulf Coast for the first time since 1908. The Milwaukee Brewers farmhands play their home games at MGM Park in Biloxi, MS.

Construction problems were the debut-delaying culprit. In the June 6, 2015, MGM debut, Biloxi took 14 frames to beat the Mobile BayBears, 5-4.

Despite such distractions, the Shuckers won their division's first-half title and had the league's best regular-season record that year.

Distractions have kept pace with winning; although the Shuckers have never had a losing season, attendance has never met projections and control of field naming rights and non-Shucker events have generated disputes.
