Atlantic Sun Conference

The Atlantic Sun Conference was founded on September 18, 1978 as the Trans America Athletic Conference, and changed names in June, 2001.
The A-Sun had merged its football league with the Western Athletic Conference to form the United Athletic Conference beginning in the 2023-2024 school year. On June 26, 2025, it was announced that the three remaining schools of the WAC would merge with five schools from the A-Sun, Austin Peay State University, University of Central Arkansas, Eastern Kentucky University, University of North Alabama, and University of West Georgia, under the UAC banner as an all-sports conference beginning in 2026-2027.
