Great West Conference
The Great West Conference was an NCAA Division I conference which began sponsoring baseball in the 2009-2010 school year. The conference began play in 2004 as a football only conference. Of the schools competing in baseball in 2012, 6 were full members in the conference, while New York Tech (East Coast Conference) and Northern Colorado (Big Sky Conference) were affiliate members in baseball only. The conference did not not receive an automatic bid to the NCAA post season tournament.
2013 saw a mass exodus of schools from conference, effectively eliminating the conference. Chicago State, Northern Colorado, Pan American, and Utah Valley joined the WAC. Houston Baptist joined the Southland Conference, and North Dakota joined the Big Sky Conference (which does not sponsor baseball).
