University of Pennsylvania
(Redirected from The Wharton School)
- Location: Philadelphia, PA
- Nickname: Quakers
- Conference: Ivy League 1993-present; Eastern Intercollegiate Baseball League 1930-1992
- Ballpark: Tommy Lasorda Field at Meiklejohn Stadium
The University of Pennsylvania is often called simply "Penn". It is a member of the prestigious Ivy League but is sometimes not recognized as such, due to confusion with Penn State University and other state schools around the U.S.
Penn provides an excellent resource for researchers. The University Archives have a site that provides biographies for all major league players who attended Penn, and also describes the history of Penn baseball in the 1800's. See History of Penn Baseball and Professional Baseball Players who Attended Penn.
Penn also includes The Wharton School of Business which operates with considerable autonomy and is sometimes considered a separate school.
