Biographical information[edit]

Kason Gabbard pitched in the majors from 2006 to 2008, with a record of 9-7. In 2009 he pitched for three minor league teams.

On July 31, 2007, the Boston Red Sox sent Gabbard to the Texas Rangers with David Murphy and Engel Beltre for P Eric Gagné and cash.

While pitching for the Rangers in 2008, Gabbard threw a pitch high but not particularly close to Richie Sexson of the Seattle Mariners. Sexson wildly ran at Gabbard and threw his helmet at him, resulting in a bench-clearing brawl. Gabbard ended up at the bottom of the pile and once things were sorted out Sexson was ejected and later suspended. Gabbard stayed on the game but was removed shortly after, as it seemed as though he was in some sort of pain.
