Biographical Information[edit]
Joshua Tam has been on the Singaporean national team.
He had played for Singapore's softball team for a years before playing baseball for them. [1] He hit .267/.353/.333 in the 2024 East Asian Baseball Cup, going 3-for-3 in steals, fielding .750 and posting a 15.43 ERA. His first hit was off Indonesia's Rawafi Yaputra Yanto Rozali. The only batter he struck out was Ranjani. [2] In the 2025 Southeast Asian Games, he bounced between 3B, DH and P; he hit .400/.550/.467 with 5 walks and 5 runs in 6 games, handled 11 chances error-free and pitched in five of Singapore's 7 games. He lost to Mar Joseph Carolino of the champion Philippines and to Thailand's Linus Oudom when he failed to protect Jyoji Ito's lead. He saved Gideon Lim's win over Malaysia's Wan Nazirul Hakimi Wan Nazri. He made leaderboards in OBP (6th, between Rizki Ramadhan and Akbar Aminudin), walks (tied for 3rd, one behind Chyi Tat Tan and Jennald Parejaop), assists (10, tied Pham Manh Chien and Bee Sengsoulin for 9th), opponent average (.167, tied Gabriel Buranasiri and Wissaroot Sihamat for 7th), games pitched (tied Duong Nam Anh for second, one shy of Yohan Xaiyaphone) and losses (tying Duong, Wan Nazri and Rohaizimi Md Aiman Faqth Mohd for the most). In the Bronze Medal Game against Indonesia, he had two hits, a run and a RBI from the leadoff slot in the 10-9 loss; he also took over for Ito with a 8-6 lead in the 8th and allowed two unearned runs in two innings before Ito came back to finish it off (Ito playing right when Tam was pitching his innings).
