Team History

The Frederick Keys are a summer collegiate team that plays in the MLB Draft League. The Frederick Keys had been a Baltimore Orioles affiliate for 31 years before losing their affiliation in the minor league reorganization of 2021.

On August 1, 2025, Attain Sports, owner of the team, announced that it would return to affiliated baseball in 2026 as the Class A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles in the South Atlantic League, taking the place of the Aberdeen IronBirds, another Attain property, who would in turn replace Frederick in the MLB Draft League.
