Biographical Information[edit]
Infielder Malik Blaise played college ball at Southern University and A&M College from 2016-2019. He continued his career in the independent leagues from 2019-2022.
From 2020-2024, Blaise held a number of jobs, some of them related to coaching. In 2020 he was a part-time assistant coach at Nunez Community College for most of the year. He spent 2022 through September, 2024 as a math teacher for the St. Bernard Parish public schools where he also did some baseball coaching. During the summer of 2024, Blaise was an assistant coach for the Frederick Keys in the MLB Draft League. When he left high school teaching, Blaise joined the Dillard University Bleu Devils as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. He only stayed with the Bleu Devils through the end of 2024.[1]
The Tampa Bay Rays hired Blaise in 2025 as a development coach for the DSL Rays.
