Daytona Beach, FL
Daytona Beach is located on the Atlantic Ocean coast of northern Florida, 85 miles south of Jacksonville, FL. It is famous for its motor speedway and its long sand beach on which cars can drive.
It has been a traditional site for spring training for many major league teams. On May 17, 1946, Jackie Robinson played his first exhibition game for the Montreal Royals against the Brooklyn Dodgers at City Island Park, which has since been renamed "Jackie Robinson Stadium". The Montreal Expos were the most recent team to train at Daytona Beach, from 1972 to 1980.
