Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Cameron Foster was drafted by the New York Mets in the 14th round of the 2022 amateur draft out of McNeese State University in Louisiana. Born and raised in Texas, he was at Wharton County Junior College for two years before spending three years at McNeese State, getting an extra year of eligibility because the COVID-19 pandemic cut short his first year there in 2020. He pitched three seasons in the Mets system, from 2023 to 2025, reaching AAA with the Syracuse Mets that final season. On July 25, 2025, he was traded to the Baltimore Orioles along with P Wellington Aracena in return for major league reliever Gregory Soto. He finished the season with the Norfolk Tides in the International League, going 0-0, 3.38 in 13 games. Overall that season, he was 5-2, 3.11 with 3 saves in 34 games between three teams.

He started the 2026 season in Norfolk and had already pitched 6 times for the Tides, giving up 7 runs on 10 hits in 6 innings when he got the call to Baltimore on April 16th. He made his debut that same day, relieving Shane Baz in the 7th inning of a game against the Cleveland Guardians with the O's trailing, 4-0. He went 1 2/3 innings without giving up a run before giving way to Tyler Wells, who recorded the final out of the 8th inning. The Orioles were being no-hit by rookie Parker Messick at that point, but they managed a couple of hits against him in the 9th, still losing the game, 4-2, however.
