The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) is a Division-II conference consisting of eleven historically African-American institutions of higher education. Established in 1912, the CIAA is the nation's oldest black athletic conference. Member schools are located in North Carolina, Virginia, and Maryland. Currently (2009), there are 12 institutions in the CIAA, but only 5 of them compete in baseball.
