Yukiya Saito has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Saito was drafted by the Hanshin Tigers in the 4th round of the 2018 NPB draft; the scout was Shunji Hatayama.[1] He had a 3.82 ERA in 33 appearances in the NPB Farm Leagues in 2019, and he also pitched one game for the top team. Saito then went 2-3 with a 2.74 ERA in the minors in 2020, but he allowed 6 runs in 7 innings for the top team. He pitched 19 games with a 4.63 ERA for the big club in 2021, and his ERA was 5.01 in 20 relief outings in 2022. The Tigers then traded him with Taiga Egoshi to the Nippon Ham Fighters for Ryo Watanabe and Yuto Takahama. Saito tore his right ACL in 2023, and he missed the entire season. He returned in 2024 with a solid 1.71 ERA in 25 appearances, and he notched 14 holds and 3 saves with a 1.35 ERA in 47 games in 2025.
Saito's repertoire includes a fastball (peak 100 mph), forkball and slider.
