Biographical Information[edit]
Yoshiaki Shimada was drafted by the Chunichi Dragons in the 3rd round of the 1979 NPB draft, and he hit .229/.308/.257 in 43 plate appearances over 84 games in 1983. He played 96 games with a .281/.327/.360 batting line in 1985 (serving as the team's 4th outfielder), and he went 8-for-35 in 1986. The Dragons then traded him with Akira Onoue to the Kintetsu Buffaloes for Masahiro Nakane, but he didn't reach the top team again and he announced his retirement in 1988.
