Yinzer Baseball Confederacy
The Yinzer Baseball Confederacy, also called the Washington League, was one of multiple circuits that arose in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its effect on organized baseball. Based in Washington, PA, it featured four teams in its inaugural campaign—the Baseball Brilliance, Road Warrior Black Sox, Steel City Slammin' Sammies and Washington Wild Things—and counted major leaguers Brandon Phillips (Baseball Brilliance), Spencer Bivens, Matt DeSalvo, Jordan Jankowski, Austin Kitchen and James Meeker (all Steel City) among its players. The league continued play into at least 2022.
In 2021 and 2022, at least, and likely in 2020, all games were played at Wild Things Park, home of the Wild Things. The league was created and hosted by Black Sox Pro Baseball. Its schedule ran from May to September.
