Biographical Information[edit]
Outfielder/first baseman Victor Bericoto was signed by the San Francisco Giants organization as an international free agent on July 2, 2018. His career got underway the following summer with the DSL Giants and he tore up the Dominican Summer League. A .344 batting average, 15 doubles and a .956 OPS earned him a late-season look with the AZL Giants Orange, where he hit.273 in five games.
He returned to action in 2021 after the minor leagues were on hiatus during the "Summer of Covid" in 2020. He spent most of the season on the 60-day injured list and only played seven games for the two Giants teams in the Arizona Complex League. Still, he was moved up to full-season ball with the Fresno Grizzlies of the low-A California League for the 2022 season. Even though he struck out 108 times in 423 at bats, he turned in a more-than-respectable .265/.353/.395 slash line.
The Giants moved him up again, and he began 2023 in High-A with the Eugene Emeralds. His .270/.347/.429 April slash line eclipsed his previous season in Fresno, but he ended the month with a modest four-game hitting streak in which he went 7 for 16 and proceeded to hit .314 in the month of May with a .520 slugging percentage. He hit 6 doubles and 5 home runs in May, and followed that by smacking 8 round-trippers and slugging .602 in June. He was promoted to the AA Richmond Flying Squirrels after 71 games and finished the season at .272/.329/.511 in 122 games, with 27 homers and 86 RBIs. He was named a Giants organizational All-Star by MiLB.com after the season.
After his break-out 2023 season, he spent all of 2024 in the Eastern League with Richmond, where he hit .261/.309/.384 in 115 games, with 11 homers and 60 RBIs. In 2025, he played another 93 games with Richmond, but also played 6 games on a rehabilitation assignment in the Arizona Complex League and was briefly promoted to the Sacramento River Cats in April and early May, playing his first 11 games at the AAA level. In 110 games overall, he hit .271/.343/.448 with 15 homers and 65 RBIs. After a great winter ball season in the Venezuelan League, in which he hit .340 in 31 games for the Leones del Caracas, he got his first extended look in AAA at the start of 2026. In his first 43 games for Sacramento, he hit .299 with 6 homers and 30 RBIs.
He was called up to San Francisco on May 22, 2026. He made his debut that day as a pinch-hitter for RF Drew Gilbert in the 8th inning of a 9-4 loss to the Chicago White Sox, striking out against Brandon Eisert. He then completed the game in right field. He hit his first major league home run on June 3rd against Robert Gasser of the Milwaukee Brewers. It was a solo shot in the 5th inning, but it was enough for the Giants to defeat the red hot Brewers, 1-0, behind a great pitching performance by Logan Webb.
