Tayshaun Mendiola
- Bats Right, Throws Right
- Born 2005
Biographical Information[edit]
Tayshaun Mendiola was on the Federated States of Micronesia national team in the 2025 Pacific Mini-Games; their last Pacific Games appearance had been the year he was born, in the 2005 South Pacific Mini-Games. It is unclear if he was related to teammates Steve Mendiola Jr. and Fritz Mendiola Jr. Tayshaun got their first Pacific Games start in 20 years when he took the hill against host and Gold Medal-bound Palau. He retired his first batter, Kedson Rechemang, but Pipen Teiich Mitsur reached on an error and things unraveled with a hit, walk and two more errors by his team, leading to two runs; he would lose to Ray Rumong. He went the distance in the 7-1 defeat, and got his first strikeout against Dusty Etpison. He struck out 9 in a win over Fiji's Marnoah Sorovakatini and pitched two innings in their Bronze Medal Game loss to the Northern Mariana Islands. He led the Mini-Games with two complete games, tied for the most appearances (even with Sorovakatini, Anare Baleinabuli, Lemeki Biaudamu and Epeli Ratabacaca), led in IP (14, 4 ahead of Walter Ladore Jr.), tied Ladore for second in runs (14, one behind Sorovakatini), tied TJ Loyola and O'neill Yobech for 4th in earned runs (8) and led in strikeouts (13, 5 ahead of Arren Yatar, Sorovakatini and Francisco Lieto).
